In April, 10th 2016 I headlined for American rapper Cory Gunz who at that time was signed to After Platinum Records, Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records for YMCMB.
Then on June,23rd 2016, I was tapped to headline for Jose Chameleone show in New Jersey. Chameleone’s career began at a young age in 1996 as a DJ at the Missouri night club in Kampala. He was later signed to the Kenyan record label Ogopa DJs, where he broke through with his first single, “Bageya” that featured Kenyan artist Redsan.
His first album, Bageya, was released in 2000. He has released more than 12 albums, including Mama Mia in 2001
I found out about Chameleone when I was in Nairobi. One Saturday night I was partying at the Florida 2000 night club and that’s when I heard the songs
“How we go Ft. Beenie man(2010) and What it do Ft Jeremy Greene (Bad boy records)2010 blasting through the speakers.
Back then I was into Hip/hop but now I also enjoy Afrobeat and Dancehall. My “Game Changer” album is blend of all the three genres.
“My big realization came during a performance with Chameleone . Not only did I have the chance to headline for him but we also connected.
We both speak English and Swahili and music is a universal language.
I thought Chameleone was a legend who won’t talk to you, but he’s a humble and cool guy”. -LXRY
